Our vibrant global community gathered once again for the International Forum, offered in a live-streamed online format. Two distinct but complementary sessions focused on the themes of global learning and education, featuring alumnae/i, faculty, and students, along with remarks by President Kim Cassidy.

Session I: Bryn Mawr and Beyond: Student Reflections on Global Learning

Friday, March 1 at 12:30 p.m.** Eastern Time (Bryn Mawr) 

At Bryn Mawr, global learning extends through curricular, experiential, and community engagement. Moderated by the College’s Director of Global Education Tracy Weber and by the Career & Civic Engagement Center’s Senior Associate Director, Employer Relations and Internships Jennifer Prudencio, a panel of students highlighted the value of a liberal arts education when applied in the global setting, including semesters and summers abroad, international internships, research opportunities, and more.

Session 2: Culture, Systems, and Change: International Perspectives on Education

Friday, March 8, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.** Eastern Time (Bryn Mawr)

Bryn Mawr College’s Alice Lesnick, Chair and Term Professor in the Bryn Mawr/Haverford Education Department and Associate Dean for Global Engagement, and distinguished alumnae/i panelists Pilar Cabeza de Vaca 1975, international education leader and change agent, and Ntshadi Mofokeng 2012, cultural worker and MA candidate in Arts Politics at New York University discussed how globalization is impacting education at regional and local levels, how traditional notions of “the classroom” are changing, and how Bryn Mawr alumnae/i, faculty, and students make meaningful contributions to learning in communities and with partners around the world. President Kim Cassidy offered opening remarks.

The International Forum is an opportunity to gather our vibrant, global community of more than 22,000 alumnae/i and 6,000 parents to:

  • Engage in deep, multi-dimensional and substantive discussions around a timely topic
  • Exchange ideas and forge greater connections among each other and with the College
  • Be inspired to continue making meaningful contributions to the world

More than 300 alumnae/i, parents and friends of Bryn Mawr from 37 countries and a multitude of time zones registered for the live, online events at the inaugural International Forum in 2021.
