I’m a career journalist focused on the post-Soviet disinformation space, and my professional journey (and many lifelong friendships) owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Russian Department at Bryn Mawr. I’ve worked for The Moscow Times, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, and was the first woman editor in chief at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, which delivers objective news and information to 450 million people in countries where a free press is under threat. I now host a podcast, Weight of the World (thewow.world), that asks Europeans with lived experience of totalitarianism for advice on how to preserve U.S. democracy. Look for us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.!
