Bryn Mawr made both necessary and possible my becoming an international person. I am a cultural anthropologist specializing in the Global African Diaspora. I have taught and held endowed chairs and directed African/African Diaspora programs in several U.S. universities; have consulted, lectured, and participated in cultural events in most of Africa and the African Diaspora; and have written and made documentary films about the Global African Diaspora. My latest documentary was shown at the United Nations, which also sent it for viewing at UN Information Centers in Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe.
